Christian Roche is the 5th generation to cultivate the vines, inheriting a part of the family property in 1984, and becoming an independent winemaker five years later. Over the years Christian noted that the methods he inherited seemed to deplete soils and thus the quality of the wine – so he went back to basics, and respect for plant and soil, and converted to organic production. The estate has been fully certified since 2007.
The estate produces 3 lines: the Jour de Fruit, L'Abbaye and L'Extase. There are 47 ha of vineyards with 32 ha of white varieties Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Muscadelle, Chenin and Ondenc. The remaining 15 ha are used to produce a range of red wines, from Merlot (7ha), Cabernet Sauvignon (4ha), Cabernet Franc (3ha) and Malbec (1ha). In total, wines of 7 different appellations are produced.
