Domaine Richou, currently managed by Didier and Damien Richou, has been a family estate for three consecutive generations producing an outstanding range of Anjou wines from Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Their 30 ha of vineyards are located in the so-called Anjou Noire, for its schist soils developed from the Armoricain base. Vineyards have been present in the region for centuries thanks to the peculiarity of its soils and the influence of the Atlantic climate. The wines of the Domaine owe their character – spicy, fresh and mineral – to these soils and the volcanic activity of the terroir, and the microclimate generated by the close presence of the Loire.
